Summer Dreams

Lacy Davis simply adored everything French and there was good bit of France in New Orleans. Her apartment, kitchen, culinary skills even her car were French. She attended mass at the Cathedral-Basilica of Saint Louis just down the street, even though she wasn’t Catholic. Her dream was focused on marrying Antoine Laurent. She had to make him see her for more than the child of his father’s business partner.

Enlisting the help of her very Irish best friend, Calvin Grey, Lacy concocted a plan to ensnare her place by Antoine’s side. However, Clavin had other ideas. His plan was for Lacy to see Antoine for what he was: a rich, selfish playboy.

“Calvin, please don’t shake the basket so much. The Champagne is going to explode.” Lacy walked rapidly towards the tall building her father built the year she was born. Windsor was proudly emblazoned across the top of the 40th floor. She wished for the millionth time that he had chosen a French name instead. “I don’t want it to spoil Antoine’s suit when he opens it.”

Calvin steadied his arm movement a little to appease his friend, but secretly he hoped the entire contents would erupt all over Antoine’s suit. It was his dream that Antoine would disappear, and Lacy would finally see how much she loved Calvin. In the fast-passed business world of high-finance, there is no room for dreams. Will Lacy give up her infatuation for Antoine and finally discover she’s been loved all this time by her best friend? Summer heat in the South can certainly cook up a hot conflict between the French and the Irish.
